Mathematical Literacy

The Colégio Europeu Astoria students began their bilingual mathematic literacy project analyzing object images, matching shapes, and counting in specially designed computer lessons. They practiced shape identification, color identification, and counting.

In April and May they began to expand on previous lessons and implement their knowledge to practical objects. Colégio Europeu students played a new small-group game, developed by Sofia Sares, reenforcing shape identification based on real-life objects such as the sun, a door, and an ice-cream cone. This practical application allows the our preschool and kindergarten students to explore math and geometry through every step of their day.
Find and color the missing shape in the train.
