MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES
AIS kindergarten promotes the development of multiple intelligences, which constitute child psychology, through work by areas of knowledge: literacy, culture, drama, music, logical-mathematics and motor skills.
Kindergarten welcomes children from 3 to 5 years old.
BILINGUAL TEACHING
At AIS Kindergarten, through bilingual teaching, the children are exposed to the immersive methods and carry out language learning in Portuguese/English; using fun pedagogical activities, with the development of educational projects and related themes between the international department and the kindergarten pedagogical team.
THEATER WORKSHOPS
In the theater workshops, children explore their creativity and imagination through narratives and characters “on stage”. Through symbolic play, which emerges in the portrayals and role plays, AIS kindergarten students develop: their dramatic expression skills; communication skills; enhance their creative abilities; work on relational dynamics; and personal skills (introversion/expression in a group context).
SCIENCE AND COOKING WORKSHOPS
The Kindergarten Science Workshops aim to allow AIS students to explore topics related to knowing the world through learning and using the scientific method.
Through research, analysis, and experimentation, these workshops address topics such as: the formation of a rainbow; steam formation: the states of water; the horizon and other amazing discoveries.
The Fun Cooking workshops, in Kindergarten, aim to allow AIS students to explore, learn and have fun through: learning about food, using cooking techniques, working with different textures, learning about different flavors/smells, and also working on the concept of healthy eating.
MATHEMATICAL LITERACY CONNECTED TO NEW TECHNOLOGIES
The math literacy project, developed with the use of new technologies, aims to give AIS kindergarten students the opportunity to work on the area dedicated to logical-mathematical reasoning.

The recognition of spatial-temporal notions, the writing of numbers and the first steps in the performance of mathematics happen with the exploration of digital resources, such as the use of interactive whiteboards and tablets.

Registration Form
1). Enrollment of new students can be done throughout the year according to current legislation.
2). After the family fills in the registration form, AIS sends an e-mail requesting to schedule a visit with the Department of Psychology and Guidance, where the educational project of AIS and enrolment conditions will be presented.
3). The student’s enrolment will take place after a visit in person to the school, upon completion and signature of the necessary documentation for enrollment in AIS.
4). The payment of the registration fee includes school insurance.
5). In case of withdrawal/transfer of the student to another school, the registration fee will not be refunded.
6). The enrolment, which confers the status of student to Astoria International School, implies the acceptance of the legal rights and duties applicable in the Internal Regulations.
