This rst week after the Christmas holidays, the Waterlilies welcomed some special new friends: the Behavioural Buddies. But what are they, you might ask?

They’re plush toys—a dog, a whale, a raccoon, and a pig—that have joined our classroom as part of a new method to encourage positive behaviour. These cuddly companions help improve attention, participation, and respect for class rules. When students are participative, engaged, and respectful, they earn the chance to have one of the buddies sit on their desk for the entire next English lesson.

The buddies not only make the classroom more fun and welcoming but also inspire responsibility. To keep their company, students must follow an important rule: the buddies can’t be touched or played with. If this rule is broken, the buddy will move to another desk.

With their friendly presence, the Behavioural Buddies are creating a positive atmosphere in the Waterlilies classroom, motivating everyone to do their best while making learning even more enjoyable.
